personality →

juno'to, crafted from years of training under garlean eye, is cold once you first met him. he's emotionally withdrawn and brittle towards anyone who tries to jest the miqo'te. he only warms up to others after they show him they can be trusted or genuinely care for him. another personality trait is how manipulative he can be in his actions and words. juno'to knows how to lie, it comes with being a spy and assassin. he'll lie about himself as a protection from others, not wanting to get close incase they'll betray him. but, in recent years after meeting the scions, juno'to is growing out of these more negative traits. he's started to act more... carefree in a way. silly, childish even by some detentions, but this is to cope with what has happened to him in his past. his is also very protective of his friends and found family, since he never really had one when he was living with the garleans. he'll die for them.

「 BEGINNINGS ↴

born in a normal miqo'te tribe, juno'to was the second son of a large family. his earliest memories are playing with his older brother and younger sister- faces blurred due to him being so young. juno'to was expected to live a normal life- nothing special- until his tribe made a certain deal with some more... sketchy people. garleans came to the tribe, and offered them safety in a upcoming war- for a child. it was an odd request, no one had heard of the garleans looking for children- and the tribe assumed for war. it took a while of debating, but finally the tribe decided to agree to the garleans deal. that's when juno'to was picked, at only four, and taken from his family.

juno'to was brought to a secluded camp deep in a unidentified forest with lots of other children, in which many were not fully garlean. in fact, someone juno'to immediately clung to was a half elezen, half garlean named odrex. odrex was older than him at the time, only ten, but he was excited to be there. juno'to was confused even more, his young mind was just scared and wanted to go home.

it was made clear later what the camp was meant for; garleans wanted more assassins or spies for the army. the only problem, most full blooded garlean spies could already be under suspicion, so why not branch out? get some non-garlean spies, and watch their enemies carefully. thus, juno'to began to train.

shortly after this realization that odrex was controlling him, a mission was granted to the young miqo'te. it was a big mission too, there were rumors of a rebellion group forming in Eorzea- and they posed a threat to the Empire. odrex had suggested juno'to take the mission, funny enough. juno'to figured it was a test to see how loyal he was- and he didn't want to fail. he took up the mission, and took the cover of a new adventurer exploring the world. he was carted to Gridania. that's where he met yda and papalymo, and found his ways to the scions of the seventh dawn. at first, he went about his mission as normal- but then started to feel like... they cared for him. they actually think of him as family and he thought the same. juno'to started to tell the garleans the truth... but twisted in a way so it could lead them down the wrong path.

he didn't want the garleans to hurt his new family. and he for sure as hell won't let anyone take them away from him.

juno'tp wanted to leave the garleans, he wanted to stop spying for them, he was finally happy; but the pressure to please odrex was heavy on his shoulders. he knew if he failed, odrex would be enraged- and he'll lash out. he'll try to hurt his family or worse- he's trapped.

juno'to is currently still trapped in this mindset. he's telling the garleans wrong information of the scions, but he's too scared to leave. he's in a cage, but he has the key. he just won't open the door.

training went on for years. juno'to wasn't the best, he was constantly scared of weapons and getting hurt, but odrex was always there to help him out. calm him down, give him good tips. odrex had six years on juno'to, so the miqo'te thought of odrex as a older brother. as they grew, this friendship only grew stronger. odrex would help calm any nerves juno'to had while manipulating him to get better, become stronger. odrex was a natural, a prodigy of assassination and going undercover. he was gifted, and juno'to was not. maybe odrex always saw juno'to as a easy loyal follower to manipulate into loving him, or maybe he actually wanted to be his friend. but his intentions grew clear as the two grew up.

juno'to went on his first mission at age sixteen. he killed someone that mission, and he was torn up about it. he hated taking someone's life, he hated being in control of that. he didn't want to do this anymore- but odrex convinced him that it was a normal feeling. he felt that his first kill to! juno'to just had to control his emotions more, hold them back and keep them under wraps. the miqo'te took this to heart, and he started to become cold.

juno'to would be twenty when he was finally waking up to see odrex's manipulation of him. odrex was constantly babying him, keeping him in this mindset that he had to make odrex and the galrean commanders proud or he would be useless. it was taking it's toll on the now adult- he would overwork himself or train for longer periods of time. he wanted to be perfect- for odrex. odrex always came first.

this stung. this hurt juno'to a lot- but it's not like he could confront the half elezen. odrex had trapped him in this mindset- and not only that- odrex had power here. at the camp, he had risen to become on of the best agents, and thus was given a commanding role. if juno'to stepped out of line- it could end up with him being killed, or worse. he was scared, and now odrex controlled him with a newfound fear as well.
